How it works The - Open Marketplace: All research professionals registered in Zursh network are part of our open marketplace. Here are the steps:
  • Complete your registration as a researcher, research company or academic professional;
  • Select the research request that best fit your capacity, skill set, and rate. The proposal should have your bid and your research approach that is specific to the client’s request;
  • If selected by the requestor, you can start working on the research request;
  • Send the deliverable by deadline;
  • Once the requestor receives and approves your deliverable, you get paid.
How it works The - Private Marketplace: All research professionals registered in Zursh open marketplace can qualify to participate in one ore more Private Marketplaces to serve particular client(s). The transaction flow in the Private Marketplaces works in the same way as the open marketplace, the differences are: Research requests are made private and visible only to preselected and qualified researchers that are members of the Private Marketplace(s); 2) The number of proposals are limited which increases the probability of winning the research bid.
Yes! You can be a member of more than one network if you qualify. Minimum qualifications will depend on our clients specific requirements. Our account managers will prescreen registered researchers and initiate contacts with selected researchers.
Yes, you can either register as a research company and bid on requests on behalf of your company, or register your researchers with different profiles.

Zursh provides research companies with three advantages: first, we help them build their name & reputation in the global research market by connecting them with highlevel corporate clients; second, we provide an additional channel of incoming research requests by providing free leads; lastly, Zursh makes research companies of all sizes optimize their research capacity and increase the utilization rate of their research analysts.
Zursh defines researchers as business information professionals who search, collect, analyze, package and present relevant information; utilizing primary or secondary research approach and free or subscription research sources. Zursh business researchers are expected to go through the following process steps:
  1. Identifying the research problem/request;
  2. Specifying the purpose of research;
  3. Collecting data & facts;
  4. Analyzing and interpreting the data;
  5. Packaging and presenting findings;
  6. Reporting and evaluating answers;
  7. Providing recommendations based on expertise.
Zursh marketplace is open for all professionals from fortune 1000 companies to small businesses. We currently receive most of our research requests from investment managers, research houses, corporate marketers, journalists, business analysts, consultants and entrepreneurs.
Zursh marketplace is open only to qualified research professionals with the research skills and resources necessary to process the research requests we receive in our platform.

To register in Zursh open marketplace as a research provider, you must have at least 2 years experience in business research. This can be primary market research, desk research, data collection and mining, investment research or any other relevant business research experience. To be eligible to participate as a dedicated researcher in our Private Marketplaces, qualifications will depend on specific client requirements.

We expect and enforce the highest standards of quality and professionalism in dealing with every element of our marketplace.
Currently all memberships are free. By registering now as a researcher, you can lock this membership which allows you to submit unlimited number of proposals, work on unlimited number of research requests (if selected), access all our training material, database discounts and other services all for free.
Only the “public” part of your registration will be visible to Zursh users. Your name and email will remain private.
All public research requests are published in our homepage in the research request area AND in your profile workroom. Below are the steps to submit your proposals to published requests:
  1. Register as a researcher in our website;
  2. Go to Workroom;
  3. Search for research requests that match your research skills and resources. Under Open requests, you can see all research requests that are currently open to receive proposals;
  4. Use Add proposal button to submit your bid and proposal to the requests that are published. Other requests with status closed or assigned ( to a another researcher) =, won’t have the add your proposal button. When you add a proposal to a research request, you will see that request under my requests.
If a new research request is published in the platform and if the request matches your profile, We will notify you via email and invite you to add your proposal. However, we highly recommend that you continuously review your workroom and check Zursh homepage for new requests.

If a requestor selects your proposal, you will receive a notification email. In Workroom, Add deliverable button will appear under My requests. We will automatically send an invoice to the requestor to add payment equivalent to your offered bid price. Once the client deposit is received, a confirmation notification will be automatically sent to you to start working on the research request.
Your proposal should contain your research approach and bid price in US dollars.

Your bid price which could be any amount less than, equal to or more than the client budget. Your research approach should be tailored to the requestor’s specific needs, it should demonstrate your topic knowledge & research expertise, and match the parameters set in the request. You can also attach any supporting document to your proposal. The more customized and detailed your request is, the more chances you have to be selected by the requestor. Our requestors usually bypass generic proposals.

It usually takes ~15 minutes in average to draft a good research proposal in Zursh marketplace. For requests with high budgets, a good research proposal could take be as long as 23 pages.

Zursh proposal policy prohibits the researcher to:
  • Offer services explicitly for good rating and/or review from requestors;
  • Offer to receive payment outside of the Zursh payment system;
  • Share external contact information. Researcher can include links, external URLs or attachments to show a work sample, profile or resume as long as the researcher’s contact information is not clearly displayed;
  • Including any research work sample to which the profile owner does not have legal rights or ownership;
  • Using unprofessional language or any material considered spam.

The expected time to process research requests is customized to client timeframe needs. The requests received can range from business questions with turnaround time of ~13 business days, to larger research projects with delivery time of ~12 months.
Zursh offer researchers a secured messaging platform to communicate with requestors.

Before you get selected Before the requestor selects the winning proposal, he/she can initiate communication by sending you inquiries via our messaging system. If you have any question about request content and want to clear any expectations, you can include your inquiries in your proposal. You can also reply to requestor’s inquiries via the messaging system. Alternatively, if you wish to engage in further conversations with the requestor prior to submitting the bid or prior to research engagement, you contact Zursh account manager at researcher@zursh.com

After you get selected After requestor selects you to work on his/her request, you are free to exchange unlimited number of messages using our messaging platform. Final deliverables should be sent using the “add deliverable” function. If you plan to send multiple deliverables to the requestor, you can use the messaging system to send additional documents and research material.
Our client have the option to rate you and your research deliverable on a scale of 1 to 5 based on the following parameters: 1) Quality of deliverable; 2) Data Accuracy; 3) Servicing; 4) Presentation; 5) Professionalism.

In addition to client rating, Zursh quality control analysts may also rate your research deliverable based on client’s request. You will be requested to disclose to Zursh quality control analysts all information considered necessary to evaluate the deliverable including all sources used to produce the research work.
We continuously monitor our research transactions to balance both demand and supply sides of our marketplace. We are always trying our best to keep a steady flow of research requests to our researchers.

If you fail to receive research requests for long period of time, this may be due to the following reasons:
  • Your profile may not be complete. Complete profiles make it easy for clients to identify your research capabilities, skills and resources. Additionally, our algorithm reads and matches request content with information you have in your profile.
  • Your research proposals may not represent well your research qualifications. Make sure your research proposals are clear and customized. The best proposals display researcher’s approach by communicating a clear path and methodology to answer the request.
  • Your bid may be too high exceeding the requestor’s budget. Revise your rate or explain why is your bid higher than the budget in your proposal. This can make the requestor either revise his/her budget or change request requirements.

Most of these free resources can help researchers not only in navigating research projects posted in Zursh but also in performing their daily tasks whether they are independent or part of any organization.
When your proposal is selected by the requestor, he/she is required to deposit to Zursh system, the amount equivalent to your bid price. This deposit will secure payment before you start working on the research request. Once clients select you to work on a specific request, they will automatically receive an invoice to fund your account. Once the deposit is received, a confirmation notification will be automatically sent to you so you can immediately begin working knowing that funds are readily available.

Once the research work is received and approved, Zursh agrees to pay the selected researcher the amount received, less Zursh’s service fee. The service fee for researchers is 15% which shall be retained by Zursh prior to remitting final payments to your account.
Yes, the payment system we have is built to provide you with payment protection. Once selected for a particular request, you can work more securely with an understanding that the money for payment has been deposited and will be released after delivery, as agreed upon.

In both models , the open marketplace and the Private Marketplace, the requestors funds are held by Zursh payment system to protect researchers and helps ensure that funds are available prior to any research engagement. Note that researchers are prohibited to offer to receive payment outside of the Zursh payment system. Researchers also agree to notify Zursh if prospective clients offer to pay outside of the Zursh system. In this case, Zursh has no liability to collect payment on your behalf.

The transaction flow in Zursh open marketplace is as follows:

  • Name your budget, deliverable deadline and describe your research request;
  • We will match your request with the best research providers;
  • Selected researchers will submit their bid and proposals Which are brief presentations explaining their specific research approach to your request;
  • Select the best researcher based on the proposal;
  • The researcher sends the deliverable you need by your deadline;
  • Once you receive and approve the deliverable, the researcher gets paid.
The open marketplace is an open platform connecting you with research providers individuals and institutions viaa bidding approach. All qualified researchers can submit their proposals to open research requests. All Research Requests published using the openmarketplace are made visible to all Zursh researchers.

Zursh provides Private Marketplaces to clients wanting to send research requests to selected number of dedicated researchers with enterprise tools. This is a private marketplace infrastructure connects research requestors with prescreened, qualified research providers individuals and institutions via a private bidding approach. Only qualified and curated researchers matching the client need can submit their proposals to open research requests. All requests published using the Private Marketplace are made private and visible only to prescreened researchers that are members of that particular network. Zursh business researchers are expected to go through the following process steps:

You can either use the request form in our homepage or register in our website as a requestor, or click on +New request on top of your dashboard page. Both ways will lead you to your Workroom where you can create, publish and manage your research requests. The deliverable deadline is the date when you would like to receive your final research work.
Note that each you time you post a new research request, you have to click on Publish to change its status from New to published . Only Published research requests are made visible to our researchers.

Research request description, budget and deadline should all be clearly defined to help attract high quality proposals (and deliverables). Detailed research requests make our matching system more efficient for your benefit.
You can either enter a fixed price or a range in US dollars. Pricing research request is subjective and depends on many factors such as the level of expertise required and/or the number of hours needed to perform the research. We have processed research requests with budgets ranging from $100 to $10,000.

When pricing research requests, requestors are advised to consider the following factors:
  • Availability of information requested: Hard to find information is likely to cost more than easily available information;
  • Number of expected manhours: One way to price your request is to assess the number of hours needed to complete the research multiplied by an average hourly rate depending on the level of expertise required;
  • Context and need: This is subjective. For example, if you are seeking a different source to validate an information you already have, the allocated budget should be lower; If you are seeking data recommendation and interpretation, then you are advised to pay a premium as compared with a simple data collection request.
  • Urgency: Requestors with urgent deadlines are advised to pay a premium to attract many proposals in a short period of time.
Yes. Simply, go to top of you research requests in your workroom and click on edit or cancel. Editing or cancelling a research request must be done before you assign the request to a researcher.
After adding and publishing your research request, it will be posted to a pool of researchers, academic professionals and research companies that best match your criteria and budget. Each time a research proposal is added to your request, we will send you a notification alert to your email.

  1. In your Workroom, you will see your research request (make sure its status is published not new
  2. Under each of your research requests, you will see research proposals. Click on View proposal;
  3. You can select the best proposal by clicking on Accept;
  4. Once you accept a proposal, your selected researcher will be assigned to your research request.
Besides the researcher bid, we advise you to read carefully the description approach which should describe the researcher’s skills, capabilities, resources and expected outline specific to your request.

This rarely occurs. We continuously monitor our registrations from researchers and requestors to balance both demand & supply sides of the research transaction. We have been successful at keeping a steady flow of responses – bids and deliverables – to all of research requests.
To attract fast & reliable proposals:
  • sure the request form is complete with sufficient amount of details and clear requirements.
  • e the allocated budget for each research request. (See question: how do I price my research request?)
  • Adjust the deadline to reflect the time needed to complete your request.


After you make the necessary adjustments and you still don’t receive fast and reliable responses, contact us immediately to solve this issue. In this case, we will assign you an account manager to immediately reach outside Zursh network to assign a researcher to work on your research request.

The best quality control solution you can leverage is our on demand data verification service: Upon request, We can provide you with on demand quality control service for research deliverables. Our analysts can prepare a data verification report and share with you after the researcher submits the final deliverable. This quality control report will rate the deliverable based on the following parameters: a) Overall content & completeness b) Data accuracy & resource quality; c) Servicing & solution generating; and d) Packaging & presentation. In addition to these functions, below are few other quality control tips:
  • One way to ensure that the data received is of high quality is to be selective before assigning the request. Make sure to select only specific proposals that are tailored to your specific needs, demonstrate knowledge and expertise, and fit within the parameters set in your request. Quality of proposals can be controlled by limiting bids to researchers with specific qualifications);
  • Another way to check quality of data in your deliverables is to require researchers to include all sources used. Data can be verified by checking it against used resources. For example, accuracy of market sizing data can be easily verified when all exact sources, with page numbers, are included in the deliverable (or logic/model behind estimates).
Short Answer: You can either ask your researcher to send an adjusted deliverable or reject the deliverable to stop any payment release.

Long answer: Zursh escrow system is built to provide payment protection for all Zursh users. As a client, you can release payment only when you receive and approve your deliverable. If you don’t accept the final research work received, you can request an adjusted deliverable from your researcher. The researcher will be notified that the deliverable was rejected and need to fix any issues in the deliverable.

If the researcher failed to make the necessary adjustments, you can then request a refund by clicking on Dispute Deliverable in your Workroom , You can file a dispute and request your refund.

In the open marketplace , when you select a proposal, you need to deposit to Zursh system, the amount equivalent to the bid price in the selected proposal. In your workroom, click on "view proposal" to select your proposal and click on Fund Account which should take you to our secure payment system. This deposit will be held in our account and released to the researcher after you review and approve the deliverable received.

Once you select the winning proposal, We will send you an invoice to fund the escrow account. Once the escrow deposit is received, a confirmation notification will be automatically sent to your selected researcher to immediately begin working on your request.

Once the research work is received and approved, Zursh agrees to pay your researcher the amount received, less Zursh’s service fee. The service fee for requestors is 3% which shall be retained by Zursh prior to remitting final payments to your researcher.

Yes, The Delayed Payment System we have is built to provide you with payment protection. Once you select a researcher, you can make a secured deposit to Zursh account with an understanding that the research payment will be released only after you receive and approve your deliverable.

Note that requestors are prohibited to offer payment outside of Zursh payment system. In this case, there will be a breach of our terms and conditions and Zursh will have no liability to collect research deliverables on your behalf or provide quality protection.
We take the client identity & confidentiality seriously. Zursh guarantees the utmost caution in dealing with every element of your research requests in order to ensure that only information that has been approved by the requestor is released to our researchers. Any communication that the client has within Zursh platform is kept fully anonymous.
Requestors should sanitize all research requests before publishing them to Zursh open marketplace, private or confidential information should not be disclosed to researchers. It is your responsibility to remove any sensitive information from your request before publishing. Disclose additional information to your researcher only when necessary.

Alternatively, you can hide your request content and require researchers to sign an NDA before they viewing your request details.
As a client, you own the final research deliverable after releasing payment to your researcher.

Our researchers are prohibited from redistributing any customized research material that is previously delivered to a client. We do NOT save deliverables in our system, all deliverables are deleted automatically from our system after you confirm receipt and approve quality.
Yes. Once you receive your deliverable, you can rate you researcher and research work using a scale of 1 to 5, based on the following parameters: 1) Quality of deliverable; 2) Data Accuracy; 3) Servicing; 4) Presentation; 5) Professionalism.

These ratings and reviews serve as credible references for you and other requestors when evaluating researchers which can build our marketplace reputation. Feedback can only be left by past requestors creating a thread of reviews and ratings which contributes to the credibility of research providers.

If you have requested quality control service, Zursh quality control analysts will also rate the research deliverable and provide you with the rating report. However, only your ratings and reviews will be visible.
Short answer: Yes, but you must check with your compliance officer to be able to approve the expense.

Long answer: Zursh is a marketplace infrastructure connecting professionals with thirdparty research providers individuals and institutions. Within these parameters, research delivered through Zursh can be softdollar approved and considered “provided” by a brokerdealer if: 1) the brokerdealer registers in Zursh as a research provider, sending proposals and preparing final deliverables; or 2) the brokerdealer registers in Zursh as a requestor and pays Zursh researchers directly; or 3) the Requestor engages in the research transaction while the brokerdealer is financially obligated to pay for the final research deliverable.

You should check with your compliance manager to ensure that your research request can be expensed through soft dollar arrangement and is compliant with section 28 (e) safe harbor prior to any engagement with Zursh researchers. Upon request, we may provide customized compliance for enterprise requestors.
